This is a single-movement sound-design work that was originally created for the pre-show music in a show called "Terra Lumina". I recorded the sounds of the show's set being built, the quarry-sounds all around, and there were these wonderful fronts chirping away. I created this work by doing a live 8-channel performance/mix onto an ADAT (yes, those ancient things), so you are actually hearing a live performance.
Every night before the show, we had to "fog" the area, because of the unbearable amount of mosquitos and gnats. The frogs would then gorge themselves on these easy treats, and then (I'm convinced) trip during the show. They would often sing loudly during various moments with lights and lasers. So, this is an homage to those wonderful frogs, and my favorite frog, Izzy. I created a frog-myth, and Izzy, for this pre-show music which became its own world. The more I listen, the more it draws me in.
Projects for a New Millennium is responsible for creating these quarry shows. They are wonderful outdoor spectacles, and simply giant multimedia works of collaborative art. Its an honor to be a part of their work. You may find more info on them by going to

I would also like to dedicate this to my dear friends and collaborator Joy Wulke, who was the head of the Projects for a New Millennium. She was the focus, the force, the inspiration, and the support. She is sorely missed. Joy, I hope the frogs are singing with you now.
